  • La Sponda, from Gioia Hospitality Group, the team behind Daniel’s, is a waterfront Italian restaurant on Grove Isle in Coconut Grove. It was listed among September 2026’s new openings by Fine Dining Lovers and under “Now Open” in the “Not to Miss This Month” section of Resy’s October 2026 Hit List. The Infatuation’s review notes pastas from $34 to $75, a $145 tartare and a dress code.
  • Buccan Coral Gables, the Miracle Mile outpost of chef Clay Conley’s Palm Beach restaurant, appears on Time Out’s list of Miami’s best new restaurants.
  • Delano Miami Beach reopened on May 1, 2026, Afar reported, with Gigi Rigolatto, a coastal Italian restaurant, and Mimi Kakushi, which is open only to hotel guests and members of the Delano Members Club. Before the opening, the hotel’s operators said Gigi Rigolatto would have a private dining room for up to 16 guests.

Fort Lauderdale and the Palm Beaches

South Florida’s MICHELIN Stars (2026)

The MICHELIN Guide revealed its 2026 Florida selection on May 28, 2026. In South Florida:

Emelina is a 16-seat Cuban tasting restaurant. Its reservations are released on Tock at 9 a.m. Eastern on the first of each month for the following month, and it adds a 20% service charge to all purchases, according to its website.

How to Book, and What to Expect

  • Use each restaurant’s own channel. The new tables above book through OpenTable, Resy, Tock, a waitlist or the restaurant’s own website.
  • Members-only rooms are growing. Mimi Kakushi at the Delano is for hotel guests and members; Bar Shishi reserves weekday afternoons for RIVANI members and their guests; Caviar Club and Fletchers offer memberships.
  • Read the bill before you tip. Florida law requires restaurants that add an automatic service charge or gratuity to disclose it on the menu and state it on the bill, and receipts must show the gratuity, the charge and sales tax on separate lines.
  • Ask about dress codes and corkage. La Sponda has a dress code; Emelina charges $75 corkage per 750 ml bottle, up to two, and does not allow wines already on its list.

Questions to Ask When You Book

  1. Is the restaurant actually open on my date, or still in previews?
  2. Is the room open to the public, or to members and hotel guests only?
  3. Is there a deposit, prepayment or cancellation fee?
  4. Is a service charge added automatically?
  5. Is there a dress code?
  6. Can I bring my own wine, and what is the corkage fee?
  7. Is there a private dining room, and how many does it seat?
  8. Is there valet parking?

The Bottom Line

Book the new openings through their own channels as soon as reservations open, check whether a room is members-only before you plan around it, and read the bill for service charges before you tip.
